Any one figure out how to use the automatic touch off arm on a double OD tool holder. The pre loaded program (9106) will not let you touch off when the Y axis is not zero returned. I have made changes to the program so I'm able to touch off in Z but not X. I can get it to touch off in X but I get a tool breakage alarm. I'm able to touch off manually.

Mori Seiki MV45/40 Yasnac MX1 Need Help to get going

I picked up this mill cheap because it is having tool changer problems. They were running the mill doing manual tool change and apparently something went wrong and it tried to do a tool change and got hung up or whatever it is doing. I have never ran the mill, I rigged it in my shop and hooked it to power. When you turn on the power switch the fans run, when you hit the control on button the control fans turn on and a contactor closes in the control cabinet. The screen does not come on,there are no lights on the control panel. The hydraulic pump does not run,the svmr does not energize. Pushing the power on button a second time does nothing. 100 volt ac control voltage is good,dc 80vdc for z brake is good,24 vdc control power is good. In the control cabinet all the control voltages are good, 1led is lit so there is power to the control. SVTR is not being set by the control to turn on SVMR. I assume the screen is supposed to lite up after the first power on button press, but it does not. I have the electrical manual, ladder logic manual, and what I believe is the machine manual. I have been over the electrical drawings and I am striking out so far. I'm good with electricals so any help to point me in the right direction will be appreciated.

Gantry-type loader system

Looking for a manual for an older Mori-Seiki LG-05 Gantry-Type loader. This is coupled to a CL-153 lathe and is a factory set-up. Having trouble programming this gem to pick up parts from the rotary workstation and deliver them to the chuck. I cannot seem to find much info about these somewhat vintage machines. We are using the Type A1 variation. Any one have an instruction manual or able to point me in the right direction.

Mori Seiki TV-30 won't cycle-start in memory mode

$

Hello all,

I've got a Mori Seiki TV-30 drill and tap center (MSC-802m control) that lost absolute zero due to battery voltage drop to the servo amps. This gave me alarm Z70 ABS. ILLEGAL XYZ which made the machine pretty much unusable. I called Mori Seiki and was able to get a hold of the zero-point initialization procedure which re-established machine zero and removed the Z70 ABS. ILLEGAL XYZ error. I'm aware that I'll probably need to order a new battery.

However...

Ever since re-initializing zero, I am unable to cycle-start programs in auto (memory) mode. Code will only execute in MDI mode, which makes things inconvenient for obvious reasons. The green light never comes on when I go to cycle-start in auto mode. I currently have errors Z73 ABS. WARNING 0001 XYZ and S52 SERVO WARNING 009F Z, but according to the manual these are just warning about the battery voltage being low. Could these errors potentially be inhibiting cycle start? Something in the ladder logic that explains this? I don't want to order a 350 dollar battery just to be stuck with the same issue. Anyone with experience with these rare machines, I would gladly send beer money for the assistance.

Thanks,
-Mike

Just acquired a machine, model SL-253BSMC 1000. I'm looking for any kind of literature that will help me figure out how to navigate and operate this machine. The manufacturer is pretty proud of their manual so I'm looking for options.

Thanks in advance.

Hello everybody.
I have a problem on my Mori Seiki NH5000 with the APC and de Magazine Axis.
My Machine have Fanuc control and MAPPS II
Yesterday we have an issue with the electrical service on the plant an lost the reference position of the Beta servo amplifiers.

I don't have any procedure to give the reference position for these axis.
Does somebody have the procedures for the reference point of Magazine and APC?
Does somebody have the list of parameters of the Magazine and APC?

I appreciate your help.
Thank you very much!

DMG users with Siemens control and laser toolsetter/tool breakage option how to use?

$

I recently purchased a 2000 DMG DMU103V with Siemens 840D control. It has the laser tool measurement system installed with the options of tool breakage detection and tool measurement installed (according to the original receipts I found in the paperwork).

There is not any info in my siemens or DMG manuals on how to use this system which seems weird as I have two other machines (one a DMU50V) where tool setters are an option and their use is described in detail in the operator manual. I looked through the 840D manuals and see no reference at all to tool measurement cycles, either laser or contact type.

I did call DMG support but for some reason they refused to provide any information on how to use this system and didnt seem to even know what it was even though it was a DMG part at the time and a DMG service tech install and calibrated it....

I searched online for any photos of the same system and couldnt locate any or any mention of any system like this installed on a DMG machine. I see there is a program in "user cycles" directory but cant tell if its related.

Anyone have this system and know how to use it?

Tool setup for DMG DMC103V with 840D control

Im learning to use my new to me DMC103V. I downloaded the tool management manual and its 450 pages long!! Ive run many CNC controls since I started using CNC machine tools in 2000 but Ive never seen any control that has anything like this level of complexity for what should be simple tool management. Anyone have a simplified version of tool setting and tool loading for the 840D control that they could share?

Anyone got Celos ver.B29 ?

I was informed by DMG Mori (when I asked) that there is a new version of Celos: B29.

Earlier this year they said the next version will improve tool offsets so it is easier to run double lathe holders (in Y). There is also some other bugs I hope they have gotten rid of.

Anyone have this version yet (on a lathe with MAPPS) ?

Transfer programs to a MORI SEIKI ZL25 with FANUC MSC RS-232 through MOXA DE-211

Hi,

I'm struggling with the new setup and I hope you can point me to the right direction.
So we have the old setup from MOXA C320 (C32010T PCI board + C32030T CPU module + 2x C32045T UART modules) up and running, and we wanted to buy the same setup because some ports aren't working, but it's not available anymore. MOXA has recommended to use the DE-211 instead, so that we can have longer distances between PC and CNC machines because of CAT6.
And unfortunately it's not working but I'm not sure what is not working and why. I have tested the MOXA DE-211 with a loopback adapter, and it seems to work.
We have two separate software for program transfer. One is for the older machines with RS-232 (and I guess without MAPPS?) (it's a custom programmed software). And the other is the MORI-SERVER software (I guess for newer machines with LAN and MAPPS?). Now it doesn't really seem to matter which one I try to replace with the MOXA DE-211 it simply doesn't work. If I plug the DE-211 in the RS-232 port of the newer machine, Ready is blinking which should mean there is a DHCP error, but it simply can't be. I have double checked, IP of the DE-211 is fix, but there is no conflict with other devices. If I don't plug it into the machine, it's working fine.
If I plug 2 of 3 from older machines into the DE-211 Ready is also blinking. There is only one older machine where Ready is not blinking plugged in, but the program transfer there is also not working.
If I understand correctly, the older machines control the whole process. Using the control panel of the machine we have to ask for a program nr stored on the PC and you can grab it. Now if I plug the RS-232 out of the old MOXA gear and plug it into the DE-211 we're getting immediately an alarm on the machine. It seems the machine needs this custom software on the PC up and running to be able to communicate with it.
Is there no other way to send programs to the machines? It's okay if we must set the machine open to connections, but isn't it possible to simply send a program from the PC to the machine? Clear: it's absolutely not user friendly, but first I would like to understand what is happening, what should be happening, etc.
What protocol is used by the machine / PC to communicate? Do you have any experiences with a setup like this? Does the CNC program have to be a text file with the extension .mor and the content with % in the first and last lines and in the second line with prg nr. specified?
Thank you in advance!

Mori Seiki MT2000- servo alarm tool magazine.

We are trying to startup a used MT2000.

The x1,z1 and y axis has to be ZRN I know the procodure to do that but I cant get to the MDI-mode.

There is a pc-alarm EX0296 (R1625.4) servo alarm magiazine, I guess that has to be in order first to change mode to MDI?

With EMG pushed I can change settings to write parameter, but I cant change the 1815 parameter to move any axis.It needs to be in real MDI mode.

I have no servo manual so my question is, does anyone know what EX0296 (R1625.4) servo alarm magiazine is?

Thanks.

Sensoring tool use and removal MV-40B fanuc MF-M6

Made my start in cnc a couple of years ago with a Mori Seiki Tl-1 lathe. This summer I managed to get a 1993 Mori Seiki MV-40B mill with fanuc MF-M6 control.
I bought it with the understanding that all manuals were with it, but the programming manual was not with it. I imagine that manual goes to the shop floor and ends up ruined or lost eventually.
The operation manual goes through tool set up and sensoring tools (2) can be added.
That's all fine I set my edge finder as sensoring tool 1 and set an empty pot and figure all is great.
So I call sensoring tool 1 "tool 1" and if I want to use it I call tool 1 to the spindle and it does it and locks spindle rotation (nice for indicator use) and do my touch offs and when done is where I'm lost. How do I get my sensoring tool back into the tool mag? Is there a special M-code? google search brings up m64, but that does nothing. Calling the next tool produces an alarm "ex1449 sensoring tool in spindle" Calling t0 m6 gets same alarm.
I can switch to handfeed and then remove the tool manually, but that does no good as far as the machines concerned it's still in there and same alarm.
Only way out I have come up with is To remove it manually and then delete it from the registry.
How do I get it back into the tool mag after use? What am I doing wrong? Is there an M code for sensoring tool removal/return to mag?

DMG DMC103V 840D Z axis work offset is locked how to unlock?

$

Im trying to set the work offset on this machine. The DMC implementation of the WCS on this control is really different than whats in the Siemens manual and also very different from my DMG DMC manual that came with the machine, almost looks like it for a different machine or control.

In machine screen, I can go to scratch then press "Z0 base", which I assume is G53 the settable offset. I was able to reset x and y to zero at the work offset but not z.

Is there some trick not described in regular manuals that you need to do on a DMG DMC siemens machine to set the Z offset? I assume that if I set one tool to the work offset position, they will all be set correctly as they are all referenced to the height of the laser measurement system at their tip.
